I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. This is another movie I’d like my young daughter to see. Have the author and cast speak after the screening was icing on the cake!
this is one of my favorite movies of this year. I love the theme of the movie and how Kaz was helping Noni to confront who she was and why she did what she did, but Kaz also had to confront who he was and why he was doing what he did. At the movie’s end, they both came to know themselves better and accepted their true selves. I loved the ending! this is my 2nd time seeing Gugu Mbatha-Raw on the big screen and her character Noni was similar in some ways to her former character Belle, but at the same time, it was a BIG difference in the acting of the two characters. I will see BEYOND THE LIGHTS again!
this Q&A was one of the best Q&A’s I’ve been to in quite some time. what made this a little better and more memorable for me is how afterwards, Mrs. Bythewood and Nate Parker stayed and took photos with the audience which gave it a more personal and intimate feeling to the Q&A. I also loved Mrs. Bythewood sharing a little of her personal background with us during the Q&A.
I really enjoyed the movie and intend to see it again with my nices.
