The movie was okay. It didn’t blow my socks off, there was a somewhat good message, but I wasn’t drawn in. But I’m not the target demographic. 3/5
Good concept about the 4 characters inside a person’s mind. But the story line was poor and the whole thing had a sad depressing theme of reality. This did not bode well with my child, it is a animation and should be light and funny, this was rated as a 4/10 by my kid.
I could see where this movie was trying to go and I did like the whole concept of it. It was not a tear jerker for me, but it did have it’s funny moments. My 9 yr old son came with me and he enjoyed it, but has seen better movies.
Inside Out seems like Pixar’s most inventive & abstract undertaking to date. Captain Obvious would also point out it probably also their most cerebral and emotional as well. Preceded by the yearning “Lava” short, Inside Out pokes at all the feels. Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) does great voice work as the determinedly upbeat character “Joy” alongside terrific work from Phyllis Smith (The Office) as “Sadness”. Bill Hader (The Skeleton Twins), Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project) and Lewis black (The Daily Show with Jon Stewart) round a fantastic quintet of leading voices. Different but quality Pixar.
I enjoyed the movie, but it did have a more serious feel and wasn’t as touching as past Disney movies. The movie overall had a depressive feel despite the jokes. I feel like kids would enjoy the movie, but Inside Out will not be a classic.
Liked it but didn’t love it. Has a good message but probably suited for a more mature audience than intended. So many emotions!!!
I liked it. I thought it was funny to see these real emotions people have acting out what people actually experience within themselves. I thought a lot of it probably went over little children’s heads and the movie was more suited for an older audience.
